I'm Santiago Olarte

So if you're here, it's because you are a bit more curious about me.

Here are some juicy details about me and about my path:

Born and raised in Colombia, the land of magical realism, I decided to become a filmmaker out of a deep necessity to find what makes people tick. I wanted to make others feel what I felt when something moved me to tears, fear, curiosity, or laughter.

I quickly realized that what matters most to us as humans are the stories we tell ourselves. They shape our imagination, but also our reality.

So, I've spent the last 10+ years learning and applying all there is to know about storytelling, human psychology, filmmaking, photography, marketing, sales, and ads… anything I can get my hands on with one goal: to be the best storyteller I can be, and to move people with the stories I tell.

To do so, I decided I needed to leave my Colombian nest to go out and discover the world. So over the past decade, I've spent a good amount of time living abroad, in cities like Bogotá, Montréal, and New York City. Recently, I've come right to the heart of Europe to live in Geneva, Switzerland.

Want to know what I've discovered about people during those travels? That yes, we are different. We may not share the same jokes, cultural references, or even the same stories, but deep down, we all share the same feelings, hopes, dreams, and aspirations. And as cliché as it may sound, it brings me hope to realize that even though we may sound and look a bit different, we all share the same heart.

So here's what I do: I combine filmmaking, photography, marketing, and a deep understanding of human psychology to create the best possible stories through films, photos, videos, ads, and content. However you want to label it, I just call them stories.

I've also always wanted to be an entrepreneur, to combine my artistic side with business, and to explore the full spectrum of what a human being can do. This page reflects some of the projects I've done; they represent a part of my path.
